Here's Sacrament Stomp; a catholic memory song for children to assist them in remembering the 7 Sacraments of the Church.

I recorded this in 2 sessions over Christmas Eve and Christmas night after writing in on Christmas Eve. I played 2 acoustic guitar tracks,a jingle bell track, harmonica, tambourine, Bells, and 4 vocal tracks.(and a partridge in a pear tree!) Recorded very fast! Merry Christmas!

This was written after a lot of pain associated with 3 miscarriages and 1 infant loss after a day and a half of life. Gods grace becomes the air we need and the ground we walk upon. I love singing this song as it is always reminding me of something I urgently need to remember: His Grace IS stronger than my weakness! Amen!

This was gut-wrenching for me to write and then once it was written I had serious doubts that I would ever be able to play it in front of anyone without totally losing it. This is one of those songs that wrote itself very quickly and I was in audience to its creation. It is like a soul-calibrator for me to sing this now. It always returns me to humility.

I originally wrote this (and most of this record) around the time Pope John Paul II passed. I wanted and needed comfort. Reminding myself of what it must be like in heaven was just the ticket!
Then, I played it at my Fathers funeral this year. Now it's his song I think; to me anyway. When I do this song live, I invite the audience to hold in their mind/heart/spirit someone who has passed and dwell there for a few minutes. It's sometimes a very healing moment.
I miss my Dad!
